Artificial grass is versatile and can be applied in various settings, including residential lawns, patios, pool surrounds, decks, and rooftops. It’s especially effective in small, shady areas beneath trees where natural grass struggles to thrive.
The project highlighted in this blog is the perfect example of an area that is too shady to grow grass, but benefits greatly from an injection of verdant green color.
The Backyard: Before
This North Dallas backyard had a recent addition of a small, separate office. Beautiful open windows look out onto a stone pathway between the buildings. Dark gray rushed granite filled in the areas between the paved pathways, around the buildings, and up to the fence.
While the crushed granite was effective in filling in places where grass wouldn’t grow in the shady backyard, it created a slightly cold, functional look that the owner was not satisfied with.
The Backyard: After
We came in and filled in all the areas covered with crushed granite with artificial grass. It was perfect for the tiny shaded backyard, adding a splash of color and warmth to the entire area. The large window view from both buildings now includes lush color that perfectly compliments the sharp concrete pathway and draws the eye up to the lattice vines on the fence.
