My house backs up to Lewisville Lake. What's different?
If your lot borders Army Corps of Engineers property, you’ll need a separate permit from the Lake Manager’s Office in Lewisville on top of the city’s fence permit. Tell us about it at the estimate so the plan accounts for both.
Do I need a survey for a fence permit in The Colony?
Yes. The city asks for a certified survey with the application, plus a $50 plan review fee. If you don’t have one handy, your closing documents are a good first place to look.
How solid can a front-yard fence be in The Colony?
No more than 50% solid, and no taller than 4 feet. Full privacy fences go in side and rear yards, where the limit is 8 feet 6 inches.

Yes. We serve every neighborhood in The Colony. If your community has HOA fence guidelines, bring them along and we’ll design to them.
